by skmethod

We’re inundated with different types of skin treatments these days, from trendy gimmicks on TikTok to celebrity-endorsed home remedies. However, we can easily research our skin concerns with so much information at our fingertips. With a deeper dive, you look into medical aesthetics for results-driven treatments and longer-lasting results.

Whether you’ve tried a medical-grade facial or spa facial, or you’re completely new to the skin rejuvenation realm, we are happy to ease you into a personalized skin care routine that will leave your skin feeling and looking better as you age.

At Skin Method, we pride ourselves in giving our patients a customized facial treatment specific to their skin type, needs, and goals. Our practice takes a holistic inside-out and outside-in approach, so we must choose a medical facial treatment that can provide safe, effective, and beautiful results specific to each patient.

Custom facialsHydraFacials, and peels are a great starting point to introduce your skin to a world of corrective benefits that will help you with pigmentation, sun damage, dull skin, uneven tone and texture, or simply to maintain beautiful and glowing skin.

At Skin Method, our skin care experts will assess your skin to determine the type of facial best suited for your skin concerns and long-term goals.

This guide will navigate you through the Best of Vancouver’s results-driven medical-grade facials and peels offered at Skin Method.

Rejuvenating Facials for First Timers

Medical-grade facials are administered by our medical aestheticians, guided by physician-led protocols. This distinction allows treatment providers to use physician-grade solutions for treating deeper onto the skin (epidermis), which is not normally performed in a spa.

Medical-grade facials are customized for your comfort level and skin concerns. The solution can consist of glycolic, salicylic acid, a blend of alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) and beta-hydroxy acid (BHA), or a trichloroacetic acid (TCA), which is a stronger and deeper medical peel.

Chemical Peel

Chemical Peels are facial formulations designed to speed up cell turnover, eliminating dead skin cells sitting on our skin and stimulating new cell growth – creating a brighter and smoother complexion. Chemical peels can also thicken the epidermis, increase dermal volume and stimulate collagen production, creating a bright and dewy glow to the skin.

Skin Method customizes the formula according to your skin type and concern. We love performing chemical peels because it reduces the appearance of pores and brightens post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) and sun spots.

Due to the peel’s ability to accelerate cell turnover and reduce the overproduction of sebum, it’s also considered an effective treatment for acne therapy, acne-prone skin, addressing surficial lines and wrinkles (anti-aging), and simply revitalizing dull skin.

Consistency is key to medical-grade facials if you have a specific skin goal in mind. Your clinician will suggest the best interval between treatments, though a monthly appointment is typical for cumulative benefits.

HydraFacial Fusion

HydraFacial MD® Treatment is a multi-step facial that includes cleansing, exfoliating, and pore extracting all in one go. It works by a process called “Vortex-Fusion,” a gentle but effective vacuum technology that helps remove dirt and gunk from pores while simultaneously hydrating the skin with replenishing serums such as hyaluronic acid, peptides, and antioxidants.

During a HydraFacial treatment, your medical aesthetician will gently cleanse and exfoliate your skin from any dirt and pollution, followed by a relaxing resurfacing pass to uncover new layers of the skin. Then we extract pore-clogging substances while hydrating the skin with moisturizing properties. Finally, we infuse rich antioxidants and peptides, resulting in that instant glow HydraFacial is associated with.

If you are struggling with the appearance of large pores, blackheads, and overproduction of sebum, HydraFacial is an excellent treatment. This treatment can also be combined with our other minimally invasive treatments, such as microneedling and our popular Glo & Go laser, to rejuvenate the skin.

Ask your clinician for the best intervals between each treatment.

You will need several sessions of HydraFacial to notice long-term results. However, if you want an instant rejuvenation treatment without downtime, this would be perfect! We recommend this treatment for those preparing for a wedding or a big social event, such as birthdays, reunions, conferences, or even before and after travelling.

Prolong the benefits of your medical-grade facials by being diligent with your skincare routine- day and night. As we’ve mentioned before, consistency is key to maintaining longer-lasting results.
